Update on the KIBALI project in Durba
Recently, GoShop Energy, in collaboration with DOT KIBALI, launched a major project to build a 2 MWc solar photovoltaic power plant in the province of Haut-Uélé, which will meet the energy needs of approximately 6,000 households across the city of Durba.

The Kibali energy project in Durba, Haut-Uélé, continues to defy instability. Despite the security situation in eastern DRC, the update on this project to install a 2 MWp solar field has been completed, significantly advancing energy independence, including: 100% completion of the installation of all solar panels, and 40% completion of electrical connections, with particular attention paid to the safety of the installations via an improved grounding system.
In fact, most of the equipment (panels, batteries, converters, generators, etc.) is already on site, ensuring the smooth continuity of the work.
Safety and Quality: An Unwavering Commitment
GoShop Energy makes electrical safety a top priority for the Durba site. It is in this spirit of excellence that work to improve the grounding system is underway:
- An equipotential bonding conductor has been installed, allowing all metal structures to be brought to the same potential,
- Initial ground resistance measurements, which were 25 ohms at the solar field, confirm that work is progressing well,
- The team is uncompromisingly committed to achieving the international standard of excellence with a resistance of less than 10 ohms. This standard guarantees maximum safety for the community and the operator in this region,
