Acquisition and Installation of 82 Solar Kits to Power the VSAT Kits of SANRU ASBL
A total of 82 solar kits have been installed at the main offices of health zones in eight provinces, including Kinshasa, North Kivu, and Maniema, thanks to a partnership between GoShop Energy and SANRU ASBL. This project provides an energy solution to power VSAT equipment and lighting.

In a context where access to energy is essential for development initiatives and humanitarian projects, GoShop Energy continues to play a key role.
The project to install 82 solar kits, led by Goshop in collaboration with SANRU ASBL, was designed to improve working conditions for staff in the central offices of health zones in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Thanks to this initiative, agencies in 8 provinces including Kinshasa, Kongo Central, Nord-Kivu, Ituri, Bas-Uele, Haut-Uele, Tshopo and Maniema now benefit from clean, reliable and sustainable energy sources. This is essential for proper functioning.
This initiative has not only transformed working conditions in the central offices of the health zones, but has also enabled local staff to manage their facilities autonomously and efficiently, thanks to training. Improved communications between SANRU's various branches across the country, thanks to solar power, have optimized the management and monitoring of health activities. Local teams now have continuous access to electricity, essential to their daily operations.
Thanks to our integrated logistics network and the presence of our technical teams throughout the country, GoShop Energy is able to intervene effectively even in the most isolated areas, from Bas-Uele to Maniema. This know-how was decisive in the success of the SANRU project, where we deployed 82 solar kits in eight provinces, often in hard-to-reach areas. Our ability to deliver, install and train on site, even in remote areas, makes us a reliable partner for projects with a high social impact.
The project was carried out in two phases:
First, the installation of 13 solar kits, followed by the installation of the remaining 69 kits. Each kit installed was designed to efficiently power the VSAT equipment and lighting at the centers, ensuring a stable connection and a conducive working environment.
The solar kits deployed for SANRU include:
Gosolar 1600W Solar Panels (4 x 400W panels)
high-performance photovoltaic panels for optimal energy production, even in the most remote areas.
4 GoPower 12 V 220 AH Gel Batteries (Rack mount)
Efficient energy storage, enabling continuous power supply even without sunlight
Victron Phoenix Inverter 48/1200 230 V VE.Direct SCHUKO converter
converts DC energy into AC energy to power office equipment. in the office.
Victron 150/35 MPPT solar charge controller
Maximizes solar system efficiency by regulating battery charging and optimizing solar energy conversion.
Other equipment:
- DC distribution system and fuse;
- Grounding system;
- Metal mounting structure for solar panels;
- Wiring, circuit breakers, and protective devices
These components were integrated to ensure maximum performance and continuous energy management, thereby meeting deadlines and guaranteeing the system’s efficiency in every area.
By ensuring access to electricity, the project has transformed working conditions at SANRU’s central health sector offices, located in remote and challenging areas. The offices now benefit from a continuous power supply, thereby improving the efficiency of daily operations as well as communication between SANRU’s various branches in the DRC.
In addition to the installation, GoShop trained local staff in the use and maintenance of the solar systems. The goal is to enable them to ensure sustainable management and autonomy for the facilities, contributing to the project’s sustainability. This project also strengthens local communities’ capacity in solar energy management, offering a solution to address the country’s specific energy challenges.
