Solar Energy as a Catalyst for Connectivity and Development in BAGIRA
Thanks to a small-scale solar photovoltaic power plant, combined with a low-voltage distribution line installed by GoShop in Bagira (Bukavu), more than 130 customers now have a reliable electricity connection, ensuring energy security for their daily activities and needs.

Locally, access to a stable power supply is not merely about being able to work, communicate, and use equipment; it is an essential prerequisite for maintaining essential services and fostering local development, particularly for telecommunications infrastructure.
In this context, how can we ensure a reliable power supply while meeting the growing needs of a community and its infrastructure?
A Solar Solution Designed for the Field
Faced with recurring instability in the power grid, our team designed and deployed a small-scale solar photovoltaic power plant, combined with a low-voltage distribution line, to ensure energy availability in the area.
The system includes:
Photovoltaic solar array
- 144 photovoltaic solar panels, each rated at 450 wc,
- 66 photovoltaic solar panels, each rated at 320 Wc,
for a total output of 85.9 kWc
Storage
30 BYD LV Flex batteries rated at 5 kWh each, providing a total storage capacity of 150 kWh;
Conversion and solar chargers
- 6 Victron 48/15,000 VA inverters, connected in a three-phase configuration: 90 kVA,
- 2 Fronius Eco 27 solar inverters, converting the generated energy;
- 2 Victron RS 450/200 solar chargers, dedicated to charge management;
Distribution network
- 3 km of low voltage distribution lines providing customers with connection points on metal poles
- Smart meters using Orange Énergies technology offer a mobile money recharge platform
Impact and Results
Tangible results that reflect the project’s impact on the ground. In Bagira, solar energy is now helping to ensure the continuity of local activities and telecommunications services:
- For households and businesses: More than 130 customers have been connected to the electricity grid since the project went live. This connection ensures energy security for their daily needs and activities,
- For companies and operators: The project ensures a continuous power supply to telecommunications partners, thereby maintaining internet connectivity in the region even during power outages.
Behind every installation are dedicated teams, committed partners, and, above all, communities whose needs guide our actions. Through this project, GoShop Energy continues its mission to bring energy where it is needed, putting its expertise to work for businesses, infrastructure, and communities.
