Since 2022, GoShop Energy has been an active participant in DRC Mining Week, a key event in the mining sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This annual participation enables us to promote sustainable energy solutions for mining sites, showcase our solar energy innovations and establish strategic collaborations. Each year, DRC Mining Week brings together industry leaders and innovators to discuss the trends, technologies and strategies that will shape the future of mining in the DRC. We are proud to play an active role in bringing sustainable solutions for a better future to the country.
- In 2022, for the first time at Mining Week, GoShop Energy presented its energy solutions, including stand-alone solar systems, adapted to the energy needs of mining sites. These solutions aroused keen interest, laying the foundations for future collaborations.
- In 2023, the company expanded its offering with high-capacity lithium-ion batteries and smart inverters, optimizing energy management at mining sites.
- Edition 2024: GoShop Energy introduced smart microgrids, enabling efficient energy distribution and reducing the carbon footprint of mining operations. This year, GoShop Energy plans to unveil hybrid systems combining high-performance solar panels with intelligent lithium-ion batteries, capable of providing continuous power even during grid interruptions. These solutions are designed to enhance the energy autonomy of mining sites while reducing their dependence on diesel.
Our participation in DRC Mining Week over the past three editions has been marked by notable successes. At the Kibali mining site, a major GoShop project, we installed a high-capacity hybrid solar system. This solution reduced diesel consumption by almost 60%, resulting in significant savings in the mine's energy costs, while improving its stability and autonomy.
These successive participations have consolidated our determination to adapt our solutions as needed and to collaborate with the key players in this sector. We are already looking forward to participating in the edition scheduled for June 11 to 13, 2025 in Lubumbashi at stand V6, to continue our efforts for a bright and prosperous energy future for the Democratic Republic of Congo, by proposing innovative solutions adapted to the energy transition of the Congolese mining sector.
