Vodacom, one of the leading providers of telecommunications services in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has been experiencing difficulties in ensuring continuous power supply for some of its offices in different provinces of the country.
"Initially, we were faced with electrical instability. Since installing the GoShop generators and configuring the control panel, this problem has been resolved. If we continue with GoShop, energy stability will be assured." Regional Manager Pitchou Ngabu from Kasaï told us.
In response to this problem, GoShop Energy supplied and implemented the installation of 52 generators in 10 provinces, including Bandundu, Kongo Central, Kasaï Occidental, Kasaï Oriental, Equateur, Haut Katanga, Haut Lauraba, Sud-Kivu, Nord-kivu, Maniema and Province Orientale. The aim of this initiative is to ensure an uninterrupted power supply, in order to guarantee the reliability of Vodacom's services.
To bring this project to life, one of our technicians, who played an active part in the installation in several provinces, tells us how he feels about it:
"This project has enabled me to deepen my knowledge of telecommunications and, above all, of power generation. Each installation has been designed to last, and the generators are designed to operate reliably.

To address the challenges of power supply and difficult access in some of the areas where Vodacom's facilities are located in the Democratic Republic of Congo, GoShop and Vodacom have collaborated on a project to install 52 generators in 10 provinces. However, these areas often experience power outages, disrupting essential telecommunications services.
Thanks to the installation of 52 generators in 10 provinces, Vodacom's power availability rate has improved significantly. Although the exact figure varies from site to site, we can estimate a gain in availability of up to 85%, which represents good, stable continuity of service for some of the stations and other infrastructure, reducing interruptions due to power failures and improving user satisfaction.
The installation of 52 modern 22/33 KVA generators has enabled Vodacom to improve not only its brand image but also customer satisfaction. This initiative proves GoShop's reliability in providing quality energy solutions and service tailored to each customer's requirements, because “Every customer is unique”. Today, GoShop is one of the companies supporting innovative development projects tailored to the needs of communities, ONGS and individuals in the DRC.
