ystem Design: March 2016

• System Installation: April 2016

• System Commissioned: April 2016

Client: Very happy customer

Project Goals

To stop using their diesel generator of 116kVA when the grid power in not present.

Details

6 x 10 kVA Victron Quattro inverter

• 48 x 2V 1400Ah SunLight OPzS deep cycle battery

1 x Color Control GX

1 x BMV 700 Battery monitor

• All ligths changed to LEDs

Next steps

The next step of the project is to add solar panels and to change the water heaters with solar water heaters.

Results

The hybrid system has many advantages including:

• co-locating the power control equipment in one location;

• easy servicing;

• easy upgrades for adding solar to the system;

This system provides a neat, practical and sustainable alternative to traditional diesel power for remote locations or locations where the grid is unstable.

The client is very happy with the installation. The generator will run only for high electricity demands to prevent any damage to the battery bank.
