Their vulnerability is exacerbated by various social factors and the specific roles they assume in society.
Yet there are promising solutions to this situation. Decentralized energies, such as domestic solar power and wind mini-grids, can reduce energy poverty, promote social inclusion and provide an effective response in times of crisis.
