In the village of Boo, located in the Djugu territory of Ituri in the Democratic Republic of Congo, access to drinking water was a daily struggle. Inhabitants, especially women and children, had to travel long distances, often several kilometers, to draw water from often contaminated springs. When this basic need is inaccessible, it has alarming health consequences and hampers community development.

What if access to water became an inalienable right, accessible to all?

Under a blazing sun, families walk for miles every day, dragging tired women and children, just to fill a few jerry cans with drinking water that is often unsanitary and a vector for diseases such as diarrhea and cholera. This situation, common in rural areas of the DRC, not only hinders children's education, but also prevents women from carrying out their activities in time for household survival.

To change this reality, GoShop Energy, in close collaboration with Solidarités International, has decided to take action. From April 29 to May 24, 2025, a project to install a solar water pumping system will be implemented, finally bringing a reliable source of drinking water to the village of Boo.

technical components:

- 8 x 450W solar panels (3,600 Wp)

- 1 Grundfos SQF 3A-10 pump capable of delivering to heights of over 500m and 52m

- 1 CU 202 control unit for intelligent management

Drinking water is now at your fingertips. No more long hours spent searching for water, or the dangers of drinking polluted water. Children can concentrate on their studies, women can devote their time to other activities, and water-related illnesses are reduced. Thanks to GoShop Energy and the collaboration with Solidarités International, families can finally enjoy pure, safe water.

This project has breathed new life and hope into an entire community, proving that solar energy is much more than just a source of electricity. It's a technology that transforms lives, thanks to strong partnerships between ONG and energy companies.
