In September 2023, GoShop, in partnership with SANRU, an NGO dedicated to primary healthcare in rural areas, launched a pioneering project to provide a reliable source of energy to the Directions Provinciales de Santé in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This unique collaboration has seen GoShop electricity kits installed in 82 Directions Provinciales de Santé, joining forces to improve healthcare conditions across the country, because its future depends on it.

The success of this project relies on the expertise of SANRU, which carried out a meticulous assessment of the electricity needs of each site, enabling GoShop kits to be tailored to suit (1.8kWp solar production, 440AH storage, 1200VA inverter power, 100/50 controller, VSat antenna power supply).  This collaborative approach guarantees a precise and effective response to the specific energy needs of each provincial health department, optimizing the impact and relevance of our interventions.

The deployment extended from Kinshasa to several central provinces such as Sankuru, Tshopo, Kasai orientale, Kasaï centrale, Tshuapa, Lomami, Kasaï, targeting the most remote areas to maximize access to electricity. This project illustrates our ongoing commitment to sustainability and the use of renewable energy, concluding in December 2023 with tangible results in terms of increasing the capacity of healthcare facilities to deliver quality care.

We are particularly proud of our partnership with SANRU, which underlines our ability to mobilize our renewable energy expertise to strengthen vital healthcare infrastructures. By equipping healthcare facilities with reliable energy sources, we are playing a direct role in improving the quality of care and, consequently, in securing the lives of the people of the DRC.

As this project draws to a close, we remain excited about the future possibilities of our collaboration with SANRU to transform provincial healthcare in the DRC. We continue to illuminate a healthier future for the communities we are privileged to serve, reaffirming our commitment to the well-being of local populations and our ambition to create lasting impact.
