We are seeking a skilled Solar Energy Technician to join our team. As a Solar Energy Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar energy systems for residential and commercial clients. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in solar energy, a deep knowledge of electricity, and the ability to perform accurate sizing for solar installations. Additional expertise in genset and plumbing is a plus.
A mandatory training of 3 to 6 months is planned in Goma, DRC before starting the first installations.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain solar energy systems, including solar panels, inverters, and battery storage systems.
- Conduct site assessments to determine the feasibility of solar installations, considering factors such as location, shading, and electrical requirements.
- Perform accurate sizing calculations for solar installations, taking into account energy consumption, system capacity, and available space.
- Install and connect electrical components, ensuring compliance with safety standards and electrical codes.
- Troubleshoot and repair solar energy systems, diagnosing and resolving issues related to performance, wiring, or equipment malfunction
Must Have
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications in solar energy or electrical systems are preferred.
- Proven experience as a Solar Energy Technician, with a strong understanding of solar energy principles and practices.
- Solid knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring, circuitry, and safety protocols.
- Ability to perform accurate sizing calculations for solar installations based on energy requirements and available resources.
- Valid work permit for Rwanda
- Speak English and French
